●  Gianluigi Buffon started his senior football career in 1995 with Parma which is an Italian club.

●  Due to outstanding goalkeeping of Buffon Parma won Coppa Italia title in 1998-99. Due to the safe hands of Buffon, Parma also won UEFA Cup and Supercoppa Italiana in 1999.

●  In 2001, Juventus bought Buffon with a record transfer fee of 52 million dollar, which made him the most expensive goalkeeper of the world.

●  Buffon spent 17 years in Juventus and he won 9 Serie A titles, 4 Coppa Italia titles, and 5 Supercoppa Italiana titles with Juventus.

●  After all this successful 17 years of career at Juventus, Buffon left the Italian club to join French giants PSG in 2018.

●  Buffon spent just one season at PSG and won Ligue 1 title and Trophee des Champions with PSG.

●  Buffon also had very successful international career with Italy. He has 176 international caps which makes him the most capped player of Europe.

●  Buffon is the only player in the world who has played five FIFA world cup (1998, 2002, 2006, 2010 & 2014) and won FIFA world Cup in 2006.

●  In July 2019, Buffon returned back to Juventus with one year contract.

●  He was offered with captain arm’s band and No.1 shirt from his team mates but he refused to accept the offer and said “i did not come back to take things from others, I just came back to do my bit for my team.

●  Buffon is one of the most respectable players in football history. His 41 years old career has been wonderful; every young goalkeeper would idealize a career like Buffon’s.
