●  When we talk about the greatest players of football then the first name that comes in mind is Diego Maradona. He started his senior football career with Argentinos Juniors club in 1976. He was named “the Golden Boy” due to his outstanding dribbling skills and ball control.

●  Maradona was the most expensive attacking midfielder of his era. Barcelona paid a record transfer fee of £5 million to Boca Juniors for him.

●  Maradona has scored 310 goals in 590 club matches in his career. He won Copa del Rey for Barcelona in 1983. He won two Serie A titles in 1987 and 1990 and one UEFA Cup in 1989 with Napoli.

●  Maradona has 91 international Caps for Argentina and he scored 34 goals. He also played four FIFA World Cup tournaments (1982, 1986, 1990, and 1994) for Argentina.

●  Mardona’s goal with his hand in the World Cup 1986 became very popular and critics admitted that it was a clever move. Maradona made it looks real by flicking his head at the same time.

●  Argentina won the FIFA World Cup 1986 under the captaincy of Maradona. He scored 5 goals and made 5 assist in the world cup matches. He also won FIFA World Cup Golden Ball in 1986.

●  Maradona was named the FIFA player of the Century in 2000. 1986 was the best year of his career, he received FIFA World Cup Golden Ball, FIFA World Cup Silver Shoe, FIFA World Cup Most Assists award in 1986. He was also named Argentine Football Writers' Footballer of the Year in 1986.

●  Maradona announced his retirement from football in 1997 while playing in Boca Juniors.
