FIFA World Cup is the most prestigious international football competition which is organized after every four years by FIFA. The first FIFA World Cup was organized in 1930 and the host country was Uruguay. The 21 World Cup competitions have been organized by FIFA in last 89 years. The event could not be organized in 1942 and 1946 due to the Second World War. 79 different countries have played the world cup and ognly eight national teams have won the World Cup in last 21 competitions.

32 teams participate in the competition in which the host team automatically qualifies for the competition and 31 teams have to qualify from their respective confederations during the qualifying round. Brazil is the most dominant team in the World Cup. It is the only team who won five world cups. Germany and Italy both have won four Football world Cup titles.

German striker Miroslav Klose has the record of the top goal scorer of the world cup. He scored 16 world cup goals. Second in the list is Ronaldo from Brazil who has scored 15 World Cup goals. Germany is the only country which played 8 World Cup finals and Brazil has record of the most wins (73) in the world cup matches. Brazil also holds the record of the most goals (229) scored by country in world cup matches. Below is the list of winners of FIFA World Cup from 1930.
