FIFA World Player of the year award was an annual football award which was presented by FIFA to the best football player from1991 to 2009. In 2010, this award was discontinued and replaced by FIFA Ballon d’Or.The winner of this award was selected by the voting process and prominent coaches, captains of international teams and famous media journalists used to vote for this award.
Ronaldo from Brazil was the youngest player who received this award at the age of 20. Ronaldo and Zidane both won this award three times.
FIFA World player of the year award was also represented to women footballers from 2001 to 2015. Marta from Brazil was only and youngest player who received this award three times in last 15 years. Below is the list of winners of FIFA World Player of the year award.
