●  Pelé started his senior football career in 1956 with a Brazilian football club Santos at the age of 15. Just one year later Pele started his international football career in Brazil national team.

●  Pelé is one of the greatest football player in the history of football. He was named as Player of the century by IFFHS in 1999. International Federation of Football History & Statistics (IFFHS) also elected him as the best Brazilian player of the century in 2006.

●  Pele played for Santos for 18 years and scored 1091 goals in 1116 matches. He became 9 times consecutive the top scorer of Campeonato Paulista (Brazilian League) from 1957 to 1965. Pele won the Bola de Prata award in 1970 due to his outstanding performance in the League.

●  Pele scored 77 goals in 92 matches for senior Brazilian team. He played very significant role in winning three World Cups for Brazil in 1958, 1962 and 1970. He was awarded the FIFA World Cup Silver Ball in 1958 and FIFA World Cup Golden Ball in 1970.

●  Pele is the winner of French Football Ballon d’Or 7 times (1958, 1959, 1960, 1961, 1963, 1964, 1970). He won many football awards in his 22 years football career.

●  After 48 years of Pele’s retirement he is still the leading goal scorer of Brazil. Second in the list is Ronaldo with 62 goals in 98 matches.

●  Pele announced his retirement from Club football in 1977 while playing for New York Cosmos. He is still considered as the best athlete in the world of his era.
