UEFA Men’s Player of the Year Award
UEFA Men’s Player of the Year Award is awarded to the footballer who is playing for any European Club and who has been voted as a best performer of the season for the club and national team. This award is also known as UEFA Best player in Europe Award. This award is created by the collaboration of European Sports Media group and UEFA in 2011 and it was first awarded to Lionel Messi in the same year.Cristiano Ronaldo is the only player who has been awarded UEFA Men’s Player of the Year Award three times and Messi received this award twice. In 2011 the winner of this award was decided on the voting of 54 famous sports Journalists just like Ballon d’Or and top three players were decided on the basis of these voting. In this voting process each Journalist decides Top three players of the season and gives 5 points to the first position, 3 points to the second position and 1 point to the third position and in the result of these voting the top player with maximum points is awarded UEFA Men’s Player of the Year Award.
In 2018, UEFA also included 80 club coaches from different major leagues in the voting squad. Here is the list of the winners of UEFA Men’s Player of the year Award.
