In Knock out stage (Round of 16) Juventus lost the first leg form Atletico Madrid with deficit of 2 away goals but in the second leg Juventus came back strongly and Ronaldo showed the best performance of the season and scored much needed hat-trick.

In the first leg of quarter final against Ajax, Juventus could not win and draw the match with 1 : 1 goals. Ronaldo scored a brilliant header goal but that was not enough to win the first leg. In the second leg, Juventus had advantage of home ground and fans all around the world were hoping for an easy win against Ajax.

Juventus had lead at 28th minute of the second leg of quarter final when Ronaldo scored another brilliant header. It was Ronaldo's 126th goal of his UCL career. The home goal gave Juventus one goal lead over Ajax. Juventus lead could not stay longer and Van de Beek scored equalizer Just 6 minutes after of the Juventus goal. The equalizer goal really boosted the speed of the match. In the second half, Juventus looked a bit under pressure and Ajax multi-dimensional passing opened the Juventus defense multiple times. Juventus started losing its defense which was due to absence of Chiellini De Ligt scored header goal in 67th minute of the match and gave Ajax lead of one away goal.
In spite of all the effort Ronaldo could not undo the away goals lead of Ajax. 34 years old Portuguese was frustrated over the stoppage time. He was booked at the dying minute of the match for an unwanted tackle from behind. It could be Cristiano's 8th consecutive appearance in the UEFA Champions league Semi finals if Juventus would have won that match. Ronaldo's amazing UCL streak was ended by Ajax.
Well Ronaldo is still at the top of the list with highest (126) UEFA Champions league goals. Lionel Messi is at the second place with 110 goals. It will take at least two UCL seasons for Messi to equalize Ronaldo's current goals figure in UEFA Champions league. Ajax will face Tottenham in the UCL Semifinals.
