Bayern Munich came from behind and scored seven goals to secure a victory against Tottenham Hotspur in the second match of UEFA Champions League. The home defeat by 7 goals can be very expensive for Hotspur and can affect their position in the group.
Tottenham was also lost in their first UCL match against Olympiacos. The match was ended in a 2 : 2 draw. It was the most embarrassing for Hotspur in North London. Pochettino’s side took an early lead when Son Heung-min scored goal during the 12th minute of the first half. The one goal lead could not last longer and Joshua Kimmich scored an equalizer just 3 minute after the first goal.
31 year old Lewandowski gave lead to the Bayern by scoring a brilliant goal just before the end of the first half. The German Striker looked unstoppable during the match and scored two goals for his team.
Before the match many sports journalists were comparing Lewandowski with the Hotspur striker Kane but he did not looked sharp enough during the whole match. He had few chances during the second half but he could not avail them. Kane scored a goal on penalty during the 61st minute of the second half but the damage was done and Munich still had two goals lead.
The man of the match was the ex-Arsenal man Serge Gnabry who scored four amazing goals for the German side. The pace of Gnabry brutally exposed the Tottenham’s defense. Tottenham’s defense looked struggling in front of the pace of Gnabry and experience of Lewandowski.
It was the first time in history that Tottenham conceded 7 goals at home in Champions League match. That match should be an eye-opener for Pochettino’s side. Spurs were lacking the control during the whole 90 minutes.

The 7 : 2 result in an away match is a great sign for Bayern Munich. It was believed that Bayern was going through a transition phase but the outstanding performance from the German side stunned the audience and Critics.
Bayern is leading the group B with two wins and 6 points. Their next match is with the struggling Olympiacos on 23rd October which will be much easy match for the German giants. Tottenham next match is against Crvena Zvezda which is a must win match for them. Serbian club has advantage of a win against Olympiacos.
Pochettino looked a bit worried due the outcome of the match. He told BT Sports during a post match interview, “When you receive this type of result, it is important to believe in yourself. That is the only way to recover. You have to be strong and keep going. We have to stay together and help each other. The best medicine is to be all together.”
