Finally it is revealed that who opposed Griezmann signing in Barcelona

French striker signed for Barcelona almost two months back. Before the signing of Griezmann, it was reported by the top sports journalists that big players in Barcelona don’t want the French striker in the squad.

Especially the name of Lionel Messi was circulated for opposing the induction of Griezmann and it was also said that Messi wanted to sign his ex-team mate Neymar instead of Griezmann.

Now it has revealed by the Barca TV that Barcelona was trying to sign French international from last season. Maria Bartomeu talked to the management of Atletico Madrid for Griezmann transfer but the deal was not completed due to some disagreements which were resolved by Barcelona and Griezmann joined the Barca squad for 120 million Euros.

Recently Lionel Messi told fans in the preseason match at Camp Nou that he believes in the squad, in Players and coaching staff. He also said, “I have no doubt that together we will fight to win it all”.

Luis Suarez also praised French international in an interview. He said “Griezmann is very humble in the dressing room. Here we are all the same."

Barcelona Boss, Maria Bartomeu told the Barca TV that “no Barcelona player opposed the transfer of French striker. We always take of dressing room on board for the club decisions but Players don’t give their opinion on signings, it’s a technical team who decides.”

After the signing of Griezmann, Barcelona also focused on bringing the Brazilian no. 10 back to Barcelona but the terms could not be finalized with Paris Saint-Germain.

Club’s President also told Barca TV that the club was also looking for the signing of Dutch defender Matthijs de Ligt but he preferred to join Juventus. Boss also seemed much satisfied with the squad right now. He said that “it is a small squad but it is more competitive this season”.

Frenchman looks in brilliant form in Barcelona. He has three appearances so far for Barcelona and scored two goals. He also showed excellent chemistry with Barca squad.
