Atmosphere and playing style play very important role in Player’s performance. We have witnessed that many great football players who have signed by big English clubs but they could not settle in and got flop.

In this post we will talk about these players. First it’s Fernando Torres. Spanish striker started his senior football career with Atletico Madrid in 2001. Soon he became one of the emerging and most favorite strikers in La Liga. In 2002, he started his La Liga career and scored 91 goals in 244 matches for Atletico Madrid in five seasons.

Torres settled in with Atletico Madrid perfectly. He became captain of Atletico Madrid at the age of 19 and it was supposed that Torres will stay in Spanish club for a longer period but in 2008, Liverpool signed Torres for the record transfer fee of about 20 million Euros.

Liverpool was also the perfect destination for the Spanish striker. He scored 81 goals in 142 matches for Liverpool. He got Liverpool Player of the season award in 2008. In 2011, Chelsea signed him with a record transferred fee of 50 million Euros. It was not a good decision for Torres to join Chelsea. He was struggling in Chelsea and by spending most of the season on bench; Torres could only scored 38 goals in 172 matches.

Although Torres is one of the best striker in Football history but he couldn’t settle in Premier League.

Di Maria is another prominent figure in football who could not sustain in Premier League for a long time. He started his senior football career in 2005 with Rosario Central FC. In 2010 he was signed by Real Madrid where he spent four seasons and scored 36 goals in 190 matches. Di Maria won La Liga title in 2011-12, two Copa del Rey titles (2010-11, 2013-14), one UEFA Champions league title (2013-14) and one Super Cup title (2014) with Real Madrid.

In 2014, Di Maria joined Manchester United for period of 5 years. Manchester United paid transfer fee of about 59 million pounds to Real Madrid, which was the most expensive transfer of that season. Di Maria also could not stay longer in Manchester United. He could not perform up to the standard which Red devils were expecting from him.

Di Maria just spent one year in Manchester United and left to join PSG in July 2015. The deal of De Maria with Manchester United is remembered as one of the worst signing of Red Devils.

We are not forgetting to mention Alexis Sanchez here. Sanchez spent outstanding period in Barcelona and Arsenal. He scored 47 goals in 141 matches for Barcelona and he scored 80 goals in 166 matches for Arsenal. He was awarded “Arsenal Player of the season” twice in 2014-15 and 2016-17.

Sanchez has one La Liga title (2012-13), one Copa del Rey title (2011-12), UEFA Super Cup 2011 and FIFA Club world cup 2011 in his cart for Barcelona. He also won two FA Cup titles with Arsenal in 2014-15 and 2016-17 and one FA Community Shield 2014.

He also won Copa America for Argentina in 2015 and 2016. These stats make Sanchez one of the best strikers in football but in Manchester United, Sanchez looked out of form the whole season. He could only score 5 goals in last two seasons for Red devils. Sanchez could not spend long time with Manchester United and recently joined Inter Milan on a loan deal of one year.
